Sara Evans is an American country artist born in Boonville, Missouri, on Feb. 5, 1971. The vocal guitarist is quite accomplished in her career. The multimillionaire has awards such as huge singles hits like “I Could Not Ask For More,” “Suds In The Bucket,” and “A Little Bit Stronger.”
The artist’s approaches to pursuing country music are usually through country pop and even traditionalist country references in her music.
Early Life & Career
Evans grew up as a country girl, raised on a Missouri farm with six siblings. She is the oldest sibling in the family. As she was growing up, her journey with music began when she was just five years old.
She started singing in her family’s band at that time, which marked the beginning of her musical career, but three years later, she faced a setback. At eight, she suffered multiple fractures from a vehicle. This setback brought her passion for music to life when she used music to afford her medical bills.
Sara’s dad brought her to Nashville when she was ten years old, where she created a single (named “I’m Going to Be the Only Female Fiddle Player in Charlie Daniels Band”) and attempted to sell it at Fan Fair (now called CMA Music Fest).
She also began playing at a nightclub near Columbia, Missouri, when she was sixteen, a career that lasted two months.
Evans relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, in 1991 to pursue a career in country music. She met fellow musician Craig Schelske in Nashville and moved to Oregon with him in 1992.
Harlan Howard, a Nashville composer, was pleased with her rendition of his song “Tiger by the Tail.” He chose to assist her in her music career, which led to a deal with RCA Nashville. In 1995, she moved back to Nashville and began recording demos
