Jon Batiste: Grammy-Nominated Jazz Musician and TV Personality

 

Jon Batiste is a jazz and R&B musician who is also a bandleader, educator, and television personality. His career garnered him 14 Grammy Nominations and the opportunity to perform in more than 40 nations.

 

Batiste is known for being the leader of his band, Stay Human. Stay Human is Stephen Colbert's house band for his late-night talk show The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, which debuted on September 8, 2015.

 

He is also the musical director of the American magazine The Atlantic and the Creative Director of the National Jazz Museum in Harlem.

 

His devotion to music is evident in his efforts to preserve and honor the traditions and history of jazz, seen with his membership in the National Jazz Museum, which the genre itself started in his home state of Louisiana.

 

His devotion is also evident due to the musical experience built by playing multiple instruments, such as percussion since he was 8. From there, he became an award-winning artist, winning an Emmy and receiving numerous Grammy nominations.
