The artist was born in the town of Rockingham in North Carolina. When he was two, he visited Atlanta, Georgia, with his mother. Nash learned to play the drums and guitar after learning to play the trumpet in elementary school.

Nash’s mother died when he was fifteen in 1992, a tragedy that encouraged him to create music. Because of this tragedy, he gained more of a “soft spot” for women.

That sympathy is further evident when you realize he wrote songs like “Run the World (Girls)” and “Umbrella,” which are both songs about the empowerment of women.

In his career, he was a mastermind of numerous songs and albums for many famous artists and created music.
